We're looking for a part-time employee! 

Candidates must be 21 or older and able to work 20-25 hours a week, including Saturdays. Prior retail experience is a plus but not required, as we always spend time training employees on any new tasks. We like to hire folks who plan to be around for a while -- a couple years or longer, preferably!

Job responsibilities include:

• Working with customers: answering questions both in person and on the phone, helping people find items in the store, and assisting them with merchandise in the display cases and behind the counter.
• Becoming familiar with the wide range of merchandise we carry, including: book categories, titles, and authors; names of stones and crystals; different types of incense and candles; and many other items as necessary to assist customers.
• Operating the cash register, handling cash and making change, running credit/debit card payments and contactless transactions, and using calculators and computers for various pricing tasks. 
• Unpacking shipments, pricing items, assessing them for damages or defects, and stocking the shelves with new merchandise.
• Keeping the store neat and clean: dusting, organizing, and displaying merchandise, as well as cleaning the shelves, sweeping and mopping the floor, and taking out trash and recycling. 
• Contributing to other store projects such as product inventories, making signs, redoing displays, and over time, taking on a more active role in placing orders and/or maintaining specific areas of the store.

Physical demands in this job include lifting boxes and other items weighing up to thirty pounds and spending multiple hours (up to 10) standing at the counter. Some merchandise overstock is stored underneath or above shelving, so employees must be comfortable using stepladders or getting down on the floor to access those items. The store is on the second floor, and bathroom facilities, as well as some store supplies, are on the first floor, so it is necessary to go up and down the stairs multiple times a day.

We require all employees to be up-to-date on major vaccines, including for COVID-19, and to wear a well-fitting mask for their entire shift, excluding breaks or any work outside.
